The B&O Play E8 have a decent wireless range and a better-than-average latency performance when compared to other truly wireless designs. Overall, the Beoplay app is not as customizable as the Jaybird MySound or Jabra Sound+ apps, but it’s functional and looks great. You also get a transparency slider, so that uses the mic to allow you to monitor your environment since they have pretty good passive isolation. The app provides a graphic-preset equalizer that lets you choose between 4 audio profiles Warm, Excited, Bright and Relaxed.
The E8 also come with a well-designed but slightly feature lacking app. It’s not as good as the AirPods 24hrs+ cumulative battery life, but it should be enough to last you the whole day even if you’re a heavy user. This totals to about 12 Hrs of playtime if you take a couple of breaks to recharge during your listening sessions. They have about 4hr of continuous playback on a single charge and up to 2 additional charges stored in the case. The Beoplay E8 have a decent battery life for a truly wireless design. Overall, they will not be the best option for making important calls but should do okay in a pinch. Unfortunately, in noisier environments, like on a busy street, in the bus or on a windy day, they will struggle to separate your voice from the ambient noise, which makes it very difficult for the person on the other end of the line to hear what you’re saying. Your voice will sound thin and lacking detail and presence on most calls but should still be somewhat easy to understand in quieter conditions.

The mic performance, like most truly wireless Bluetooth headphones, is mediocre-at-best. Their case is also well made, coated in a great-looking leather fabric and compact enough to fit into most pockets. On the upside, they’re stable enough for most activities, even running and working out.

The E8 also have a lot of functionality mapped to single, double and triple taps, which gets a bit confusing, so you may have to use the manual once or twice to get your bearings at first. Unfortunately, this also means that their control scheme is a bit less responsive, since the touch-sensitive surfaces do not give a lot of tactile feedback.

The buds do not protrude out of your ears like the Bose SoundSport Free or the Apple AirPods, and they have a touch-sensitive control scheme that further emphasizes their sleek aesthetic, since there are no physical buttons anywhere on the headset or even on the case. They come with a couple of tip options to help you find the right fit, which makes them a bit more comfortable than your average in-ear.
The earbuds feel dense, durable and have an angled design to better fit the contours of your ears. The Beoplay E8 are one of the better designed truly wireless headphones we’ve tested so far.
